President’s Message

The New Toronto Lawn Bowling Club would like to welcome you to our club’s webpage and invite you to learn more about our club and its activities as well as the sport of lawn bowling.

Our Club was established in 1902 and over the past 115 years, members and guests alike have enjoyed playing on our greens, which are located in Etobicoke, right next to beautiful Lake Ontario.

Training and coaching are available for free for any new member at the start of each season and for anyone joining partway through the year. All one needs to play is flat-soled shoes and a willingness to learn and have fun!

We promote a social, rather than overly competitive, atmosphere while encouraging an understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the finer points of the sport. We do, however, mix this fun attitude with just enough of a spirited and friendly challenge between members to keep things interesting!

Along with offering lawn bowling on four occasions each week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Friday and Saturday mornings), we hold club barbecues twice during the summer and our club also holds its annual Art Harrison Memorial Battle of the Sexes Tournament, pitting the men against the ladies in a relaxed rivalry. And as a member club of Ontario Lawn Bowls Association District 9, we have, in recent years, been a host club to formal District competitions including 2018’s Novice Triples taking place in July.

I invite you to come down and check out our club and the sport of lawn bowling.

And remember that, with lawn bowling at our club: It’s cooler by the lake!

John Beaton, President
